The historic gold rush town of Julian is hosting its fourth Julian Classic Motoring Show on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 & 22, 2011. Again our activities will include a get together on Main Street on Saturday afternoon the 21st with our famed Le Mans start and rally run out to the Menghini Winery for festivities on Saturday evening, and on Sunday, May 22nd our Classic Motoring Show which will occur at the winery.
Set amidst historic apple orchards at the foot of Volcan Mountain on the grounds of the winery, an eclectic mixture of vintage sports and racing cars, classic touring cars and vintage motorcycles are invited to exhibit in the show. We have selected as the theme of this year’s event.
“V8’S IN THE VINEYARD”
A SALUTE TO THE HISTORIC TRANS AM RACERS
OF THE SIXTIES AND SEVENTIES
We will be honoring those incredible race cars such as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Dodger Challenger, and the AMC Javelin, to name but a few of the competitors who tore up race tracks and turned heads around the USA from 1967 to 1972!
This year’s event is being held to benefit the Julian Medical Clinic and all net proceeds will be given to this very important local enterprise.
Owners of classic touring and vintage sports cars and motos, and of course, Trans-Ams who would like to display their treasures should download an Entry Form from this website or call the Julian Chamber of Commerce at 760-765-1857 for more information.
We have a great number of activities planned for your time with us including our famed Le Mans Start and Rally from the center of Julian out to the Menghini Winery using winding roads so reminiscent of the roads used in the historic Mille Miglia more than a half century ago in Italy!
So, come and display your treasure meet our honored guest and Grand Marshall, Ms. Christi Edelbrock, of the famed Edelbrock racing family and an accomplished Trans Am racer herself, talk to her and walk amongst the exhibits and enjoy our special kind of mountain hospitality.
